Settings to use

Most mail apps (Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail on Android, Thunderbird) can set themselves up from your email address and password. If yours asks for server settings, use these. Replace yourdomain.co.za with your own domain.

SettingValue
UsernameYour full email address
PasswordThe password for that email account
Incoming servermail.yourdomain.co.za
IMAP port (recommended)993, SSL/TLS
POP3 port995, SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP) servermail.yourdomain.co.za
SMTP port465, SSL/TLS (or 587, STARTTLS)
SMTP authenticationOn, with the same username and password

IMAP or POP3?

Choose IMAP if you read email on more than one device. Your mail stays on the server, so every device shows the same folders. POP3 downloads email to one device and is best avoided unless you have a reason to use it.

Automatic setup from cPanel

In cPanel, open Email Accounts, click Connect Devices next to the account, and follow the instructions for your app. On an iPhone or Mac you can download a profile that sets everything up for you.
